3/2009 to present: Harley Thermal LLC.
President and founder of Harley Thermal LLC. Harley Thermal specializes in the development of low cost, easy to use thermal simulation software. Our product, Solaria Thermal, has full capabilites with two steady state and transient solver.
10/2005-3/2009 ANSYS Inc.
In October 2005 Harvard Thermal was sold to ANSYS. I became Product Manager of the Harvard Thermal products. This included training of worldwide sales to address the electronics thermal market. Later my responsibilities included product management of the Icepak product. ANSYS terminated the three Harvard Thermal products in 2009.
6/1994-10/2005 Harvard Thermal Inc.
Founder and president - HTI developed and marketed PC based thermal modeling software. Products include TAS, a general purpose thermal simulation tool, TASPCB, thermal simulation of printed circuit boards, and PTD, thermal simulation of electronic components. I performed and/or managed thermal consulting services provided to companies like Raytheon Company, Lockheed Martin, Optical Research Associates, IBM, TriQuint, Alpha Industries, Brazonics and Amkor. Tasks ranged from thermally characterizing over 30 different power FETS for TriQuint to satellite design for MIT Lincoln Lab. I developed corporate partnerships with Brazonics, e2E Corporation, Control Resources, University of Arizona and Melcor Corporation. I was contracted by Raytheon Company to overview the thermal design of the Teledesic satellite Uplink and Downlink radars systems. I have personally taught hundreds of engineers thermal modeling techniques and how to use TAS.
1/1981-7/1996 Raytheon Company
Principal Engineer/Group Leader in the Raytheon Electronic Systems thermal analysis group. Responsibilities include performing thermal analysis of ground, air and space based electronic systems. Tasks include nuclear thermal effects analysis and testing, analysis of microelectronics, design of liquid and air cooled phased array antennas, printed circuit boards and enclosures and providing temperatures for input to MSC/NASTRAN models for thermal/stress analysis. I provided thermal support for the GBR radar systems during proposals and early-on design. I performed extensive nuclear thermal effects analysis and testing solar furnaces in Font Romeu France, at White Sand Missile Range and Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
1/1977-5/1978 General Electric
Installation and Serice Engineer at General Electric, Nuclear Services Organization. Managed servicing and installation of GE nuclear facilities
